 Ah
Astana, you were once called Aqmola, meaning “from out of dry
bones”.
“Oh, Dry Bones, hear the word of the Lord.” Ez 37:4 |
 Today,
your streets are graced with lovely fountains of water.
“If
any man is thirsty, let him come to Me, the fountain of Living Water.”
John7:37 and Jer 2:13 |
|
 |
 |
 |
|
And
the beautiful Ishim River flows through your city.
“From the Holy Spirit shall flow rivers of living water.
John7:38 |
 This
river separates the old and the new city.
“There is a bringing of a better hope, through which we draw near to
God.” Hebrews 7:19 |
And
in the center of the new city stands a symbol which represents the Tree of
life.
“Being
firmly planted by streams of water, yields its fruit in season.” Ps 1:3 |
|
 As
in the marketplace of Athens of old may the same question be asked in
yours.
“May
we know what this new teaching is?” Acts 17:19 |
 And
in the great arena of life, may your people strive to reach the goal.
“Press
on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ
Jesus.” Phil 3:14 |
 In
order to recognize the voice of Jesus as a bride knows the one she loves.
“And as the bridegroom rejoices over the
bride, so your God will rejoice over you.” Isaiah 62:5 |
Ah
Astana, Your name means, “Capital City.”
“May God’s kingdom come, may God’s
will be done.” – Matthew 6:10 |
